BELONGING

We welcome and engage with a variety of young people from different backgrounds and experiences. We are intentional about creating healthy environments where it is safe for young people to be themselves and where they feel like Youth Initiatives is a
place they belong.

CHRISTIAN ETHOS

We base our approach on Christian
principles of hope, love and faith. This
permeates our staff gatherings and our
youth work programmes as we provide
opportunities for young people to discuss big issues and to make connections between faith and daily life.

EXCELLENCE

We support our teams to pursue excellence in our youth work delivery as well as in our systems, structures and practices.

EQUALITY & INCLUSION

We are committed to being fair in how we treat young people and staff, open and transparent in how we recruit,
compassionate and flexible in our practice.

FAMILY & COMMUNITY

We are intentional about creating a culture of honour, support and growth within our staff team and youth community hubs. Good listening, communication, empowerment and staff wellbeing are important to us. We
want to see staff and young people thrive.

LEADERSHIP

Training and equipping volunteer leaders and our staff team is important to us. Our ultimate desire is for young people to contribute to and be agents of change in their work, family, church and community. We call young people to responsibility and to rise up and live with meaning and purpose. We also provide leadership across the youth work sector and within the Youth Initiatives Network.
